Putting the “FUN” in Fundraising
Thank you for buying a ticket to Toast on the Coast to eat, drink and support education! What can be better than a win-win-win? While you are having a blast, you are supporting vital programs for students! All proceeds from Toast on the Coast benefit the Peninsula Education Foundation to support education excellence to over 10,000 students in all 17 PVPUSD schools with important programs including teachers, library aides, music teachers, counselors, STEM programs, student wellness and more.
It is a little known fact that Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District (PVPUSD) is 3rd to last in Los Angeles County for the funds we receive from the state to educate each child. PVPUSD receives $15,053 per child compared to $28,280 in Beverly Hills (2021-22). That means critical programs and teaching positions are in jeopardy of getting cut each year due to state budget shortfalls. This results in a multi-million dollar loss in funding each and every year.
For over 42 years, we have relied on generous contributions from our parents and community members to help bridge this gap and fund the programs and teachers that are necessary to assure excellence in our public schools in the Palos Verdes Peninsula.
